About Me
I'm an independent filmmaker working as a Writer/Director/Producer out of BC with RTV Productions.
(Some might refer to this as: "struggling artist"...haha. I'd call it pursuing one's passion.) (rtvfilm.com)
I Want to Meet - Interesting People, in and around the Vancouver area; individuals who hopefully do not keep words such as: "Holla!" or "Bling Bling" in their vocabulary...
(side note) - Having experienced past relationships of dating someone entirely obsessed with their weight, public appearance, and the pressures caused by North American fashion marketing, I would be flattered to meet someone who does not possess such characteristics.
I tend to avoid: The ever-rising number of stereotypical clones, those in this city carrying themselves with an oblivious air of impenetrability.
I have often wondered to myself – where does it come from, this arrogance now displayed by countless young urbanites?
It’s interesting to think that a pretty young woman can move from her very modest surroundings out in the valley, or rural area, to some downtown tower, put herself in some new clothes, and then carry herself as if she were a member of the British Royal Family – (when she’s not waiting tables or serving at the beer tub). Not that there’s anything wrong with waiting tables, it’s just that it’s somewhat perplexing to watch the transformation from waitress to heiress occur right before ones very eyes.
Don’t get me wrong, a lot of young men are just as guilty, but let’s face it, they’re in the minority.
Seems this city has become a playpen for the ever-expanding monotone of dreams to be the next ‘nouveau rich’ and those who play at climbing ladders constructed of low self-esteem and opportunism.
Unfortunately, here: beauty is power, money guarantees the attraction of it, and the popular understanding of it is only skin deep...

- To this day I am sill often confused by the majority of people who spend their time buying into the vacuous nothingness that celebrities/millionaire debutants such as Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Lindsay Lohan (this list could go on...) so resoundingly represent, and often attempt to justify it by passing it off as a frivolous indulgence, one that is by no means serious. Yet it’s the very same people that often either emulate them or grant individuals like these the attention and support required to allow them continued exposure and success, not to mention the apparatuses that support and promote them.
There are entire magazines(US), websites(americanidol.com), and television programs(Entertainment Tonight) dedicated to: nothing. The question you need to ask yourself is WHY are they vastly more popular than magazines(The Nation), websites(antiwar.com), and television programs(PBS, CBC’S The Hour) dedicated to: something??
SO...WHAT DOES PEACE LOOK LIKE?
There is only one side to peace, despite various historic claims that to ensure it you must prepare for war or be prepared to use violence in an attempt to ensure freedom. Peace is by no means a complicated matter. It is only complicated by those that desire it on their terms. If there is one thing that we, as decent people, must first confront, it is the ease with which life is ended, endangered, or abused. If a global crusade for freedom is to occur, it must be all encompassing. It must include the emancipation of wildlife from the recklessness of industry, the impoverished from poverty, the hungry from hunger, and the used from usury. Only then can a political freedom be truly applicable. If we are content to commit slow suicide, what can peace be for us but just a warm word? At this very moment we are all committing generational genocide, and are all as guilty of mass murder as any tyrant that has through madness dispatched untold numbers. Our grandchildren’s grandchildren will inherit a graveyard, a used up planet that ignorant and greedy men and women refused to help save when they had the chance to act. Instead, they choose to champion the continuation of destruction, of domination, and of greed. And in doing so have made us all culpable. We, who stand by and do nothing, will be long dead when our distant relatives are faced with the fruition of our ignorance.MG

First Date
Something random would be interesting, to get past the whole "interview" vibe that first dates tend to be.
- For those curious, I dig: live music...theatre...comedy, (anything to do with the 'Arts' really)...pubs/lounges.
(side thoughts:)
Where Should Our Wars Be Fought?:
A fraction of this planet preys daily on the majority of it, a fact that most of us simply refuse to believe because it infers that we might be in the wrong and that we are the ones that will ultimately have to make the hard choices regarding new perspectives.
If religious fanaticism can kill without regard, so too can the legions of democracy – examples of both have been given us long before now, from the Crusades to the conquests of the Rome.
Human nature, some profess, is intrinsically linked with greed, the desire to make war, to control others, to dominate.
So, how do you do it?
We raise our children to tell the difference between the individual and the mechanism (i.e. Religious Fanaticism, and The exploitation of weaker economies, which the proponents of globalization have attempted to convince the world is, in fact, in the best interest of those being exploited). Because unlike the mechanism, the individual inevitably seeks redemption. Tell them that though evil exists in this world, it is found in all of us to some degree, and therefore all of us ultimately must struggle to free ourselves from its occupation. And that, in the end, is where our 'wars' ought to be fought.MG
