About Me
To start with the basics, I am 30 years old, 5'5" and 155lbs. I was born in India and I have been here for over 15 years, so this is now my home.
I consider myself to be a very liberal, tolerant and open minded person. In the course of my life, I tend to enjoy reading good books, watching intelligent movies, working out, yoga, socializing with friends, having a BBQ on my patio, enjoying exquisite cuisine, incredible music and vivacious dancing. I also volunteer for various causes throughout the year. I have been a part of Calgary Folkfest, Filmfest and Lilac Fest to name a few.
Although I don't have four legged pets of my own right now, I love being around animals. Especially dogs - the big, cuddly, furry, kissable, loyal types. And although I am allergic to cats, I can't help but pet them when they rub up against me. I also like fishies but they don't seem to like me too much. Four of them have died glorious, yet needless deaths, while under my command. The fifth one - well, its too early to tell.
Being a patron of the arts, I enjoy going to art galleries, theatres, live musical events and concerts. And I love to go dancing - everything from salsa to two step - and as long as there is good music and a fun crowd, I am willing dance. For the adventurous stuff, I have gone rock climbing and skydiving in the past, and I would love to do it again. And I want to get my open water SCUBA certificate so I can explore the waters of the tropics.
My musical tastes vary across a wide range - everything from Drum and Bass to Beethoven, from Ani Difranco, Rage Against the Machine, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Cochrane, Janis Joplin and Bruce Springsteen to Cowboy Junkies, Jann Arden, Sarah Mclachlan, Leonard Cohen, Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Nina Simone, Emmylou Harris and Johnny Cash. I am also starting to appreciate the beauty and depth in the voice of Eva Cassidy. And I wholeheartedly support CKUA radio.
Hanging out with me will entail enjoying some of the finest palates of the world - everything from fresh sushi and a great paella to oysters and Ethiopian food, and of course, some amazing Indian food. And all this to be topped off with some yummie cheesecake or gelato. And paired with some of the finest red wines available - everything from a shiraz and a malbec to a cabernet or pinot noir.
I was once told that the key to lead an interesting life is to surround yourself with interesting people - and I certainly am interesting, which is definitely a Gemini trait.
Over the years, I have realized that the "type" of woman that I am attracted to is someone who is strong, confident and independent, someone who makes me happy, and makes my heart skip a beat. Once I find these things in a woman, everything else just falls into its own place. I would like to find someone who can explore the world with me, and show me another perspective on life - and someone who loves to dance...
First Date
Depends on the mood she was in...
If she was in the mood for something adventurous, I would take her skydiving
If she was in the mood for something casual, we would hang out on a patio and enjoy some bellinis
If she was in the mood for something romantic, I would take her to a fine restaurant where we would enjoy an incredible meal paired with an amazing wine
And if she was in the mood to feel sexy and flirty, I would take her dancing...
