I live in New York, but am originally from Austria. I've been here for almost nine years now, and it's been quite an experience. Even though- or maybe because- New York is a large city, it is sometimes hard to meet somebody of quality. People seem to be on guard at all times, and it is oftentimes hard to get to know the real person. I hope to meet a woman that can keep it real.

First Date
There are many ways that would make a first date a good date. Could be anything from a good conversation over a cup of coffee at Starbucks or drinks in a bar where the music is not too loud and a normal conversation is possible. Conversation is essential, though, since you can't get to know someone by sitting in the movie theater. The date can go anywhere from there, depending on chemistry, or the lack of it. It is, however, imperative that there is honesty from the start. Nothing worse than starting off the wrong way- if you are looking for a one-night-stand, a serious relationship, or friendship with benefits, just say so! If there is anything in your profile that is the opposite of what is actually going on in your life (e.g. you are married, but for dating purposes stated that you are single), the first date is the time to come up with the truth.
