About Me
If I were to put myself in a labeled bin at the grocery store, I'd be a quirky nerd, in the highly driven brainiacs aisle, between the cashews and pineapple juice. Alot of guys say they want a simple girl who's low maintenance and not a drama queen. But that's just lazy. I'd like someone who's a bit high maintenance and gets emotional once in a while and shows it. Allow me to elaborate with an example: Tamagotchi. These little loveable eggs would not have been so popular if they were content and happy all the time. It only brought out a sense of caring when it complained of hunger or was being naughty. Oh wait, did I just compare a woman to a little electronic keychain?
I'm always evolving and changing so you'll have to be agile. I love to cook so I hope you don’t have a ton of food allergies. And I want someone to laugh at me. I miss the sweet sweet abuse that only a girlfriend can administer.
So how shall I meet someone fantabulous?
Let me count the ways,
Random strangers out and about? My mind isn't nearly agile enough to decipher drunken slurs over pounding music. No.
Seek the office romance that cuts short my promising career? I doubt the bank would accept that excuse when I stop making my payments. No.
Introductions from friends and family? Once in a blue moon (literally) does not a fishing pond make. No.
How about the web of tangled URLs here? Hmmm...
So who is fantabulous to me? A girl with a good head on her shoulders, who's intelligent, educated, and has at least a few ducks in a row. Someone who's positive, strong and honorable. Basically, someone like me!
My Music: U2 (always), Postal Service, Bedouin Soundclash, Roxette, New Pornographers, Decemberists, Death Cab For Cutie, Switchfoot, INXS (the old), Gin Blossoms, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gorillaz, Snow Patrol, Corrs, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Beck, Killers, Badly Drawn Boy, White Stripes, Garbage, Dido, Electric Six, Cranberries, and.. I'll stop now... oh, and video game orchestra scores. Hey, they put alot of effort into those!
My Pizza toppings: bacon, mushroom, eggs, zuchinni, pepperoni, pineapple, chicken, onion, but definitely not all on the same pizza. Yuck!
My Movies: Stranger than Fiction, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Stay, Animatrix, Fight Club, Chicken Run, Garden State, Pulp Fiction, My Sassy Girl, Wallace and Gromit, Jurassic Park, but this list can get real long too...
My Hobbies: mountain biking, snowboarding, golf, tennis, cooking, painting, tinkering with things, games, sorting things, geocaching.
First Date
I hate dating! The awkwardness, the uncertainty, the bloodshed!
Oh right, I'm a masochist... or an optimist.
Because sooner or later, the banter will be natural, the sentiments will be clear, and the bloodshed will be minimal.
Someday, someone will understand why I park backwards, why I eat matching pairs of crispy M&Ms, or why I hate answering machines. Someday, someone will have quirks just as endearing.
Someday, sooner or later, you'll see.
